The type of honey used in this Manuka Honey Facial Cleansing Bar is Active AAH 650+, which is a method of testing and rating manuka honey developed in New Zealand by Dr Geoffrey Savage from Lincoln University.
AAH stands for Antibacterial Antioxidant Honey and the higher the number the higher the antibacterial level, and in this instance AAH 650+ is the highest level possible for manuka honey. As manuka honey has been shown to be beneficial for the skin this facial cleansing bar makes use of the natural healing and cleansing properties of the honey. The honey also contains antioxidants, which also contribute to improved skin through neutralizing free radicals, which can damage the skin.
