MGO 100+ Manuka Honey comes in three different sized jars and this is the smallest size at 250g. The MGO brand of manuka honey comes in a variety of MGO levels starting at its lowest level of 30+ to a super high version of 550+.
The rating system actually refers to the strength of a compound called methylglyoxal (MGO), which Manuka Health together with its research partners in Germany discovered as being behind the well-known properties of manuka honey.
Manuka Health considers this MGO 100+ Manuka Honey to be a moderate level of MGO, which must be present in the honey for it to be classed as genuine manuka honey.
Manuka Health as a company has had a meteoric rise from very small beginnings in the company founder’s living room in 2006 to become a global name in manuka honey production and distribution.
However, Manuka Health has not lost sight of the natural origin of honey, which is made by bees feeding off the manuka tree in various areas of New Zealand’s pristine natural environment. The extraction process similarly ensures no chemicals are used and the honey can be traced back to the beehive it originated from.

The MGO rating system developed by Manuka Health means the honey is tested in-house and the test is used to monitor and confirm the level of methylglyoxal (MGO) contained in the honey.
The MGO is a different method of testing than the other well-known UMF or Unique Manuka Factor rating system, but both systems give consumers confidence that the jar contains genuine manuka honey.
